Join us at Good Shepherd September 10 directly following the 10 am service (around 11:15 am) for an all-ages program of education and service to learn about, serve, and pray for local refugees. A hands-on children and youth program will be offered downstairs to help kids understand what life is like for refugees, while adults hear from a local refugee about her journey from Iraq and the experience of being a refugee in the U.S. Afterwards we’ll do a simple multi-generational service project at the church to help local refugees feel welcomed and aid them in settling in to their new homes. Donations will be collected for Rocky Mountain Lutheran Family Services, the local agency the Episcopal Church partners with to resettle and support refuges. Finger food will be served. Please sign up online or in the hall outside of the sanctuary so we have enough refreshments and supplies for the service project.
Also, please join us downstairs Sunday, Sept. 17 after the 10am service to celebrate the completion of our basement renovation and for a Sunday School and Youth Ministry open house. Meet some of your kids' teachers, have your children take you on a tour of their classrooms, check out the lessons we use, munch on some goodies, and learn about volunteer opportunities!
