The Godly Play room.  A small but mighty group!

The Godly Play room.  A small but mighty group!

April 1 is Easter and we do not offer Sunday School this day in order to allow all children aged 3 years and older to attend a church service and worship our Risen Lord as a family.  An Easter Egg hunt in the church “back yard” (weather permitting) will begin immediately following the 9:15 worship service, at approximately 10:30.

Thank you to everyone who generously donated filled eggs over the last several weeks so that all the children will have the opportunity to search for eggs during the Easter egg hunt. You will bless the kids by your thoughtfulness!

We had a meaningful Palm Sunday Liturgy on March 25 where we explored the Stations of the Cross in a child and youth friendly approach.

Sunday school begins at 9:45 every Sunday with the exception of Easter (see note above).  On April 8, the combined Godly Play classroom (for children aged 3 years through 2nd grade) will have the presentation “The Garden Appearance,” followed by “The Road to Emmaus” on April 15, “Jesus Appears to the 10” on April 22 and “Jesus Appears to the 10 and Thomas” on the 29th of April. The themes for grades 3 through 5, using the  Living the Good News curriculum, will be: “From Fear to Faith---The risen Jesus appears to His disciples, welcoming them and speaking to their doubts and fears.” (April 8); “Christ Among Us---Jesus again appears to His disciples and again invites them to touch His risen body and believe in His risen life.” (April 15); “Gathering God’s Children---Jesus assures us that He is the Good Shepherd, who knows each of us by name” (April 22), and “Abide and Obey---Jesus calls Himself the true vine, names the gardener and describes all of us, God’s children, as the branches” (April 29).
