Hungry Flock, Good Shepherd’s monthly dinner get together, will be starting up again on Saturday, October 13. Hungry Flock meets the second Saturday of every month from October through May. We meet in various members homes for food and conversation. It is open to all adults, single and in relationships, and older teens who think that an evening spent chatting and eating with adults would be fun. Spouses/significant others are welcome even if you don’t attend Sunday services.
I will be outside the fellowship hall after services on September 9 and September 16, so you can sign up to host and I can answer any questions you may have. At that time, you can indicate which month you would like to host and how many people you would like to have in your home. If you cannot host in your home, the May gathering is at the church, and is hosted by those who didn’t host during the year. Hosts are responsible for providing the main dish and wine to accompany. Guests bring the appetizer, salad, bread, dessert, etc., after discussion with the host, and any before dinner libations.
Hungry Flock is a great opportunity to get to know those who attend a different service or your service, but you never have a time to chat with, in a smaller group setting. Just in case you are wondering, this is not a gourmet dinner group. The emphasis is on fellowship.
