A different kind of Advent calendar to try this year
Most Advent calendars are about receiving little gifts; this one is about giving instead.
Here are the steps for making your Reverse Advent Calendar:
· Get a sturdy box or bag.
· Add an item to your box each day of Advent. Items could include personal TRAVEL SIZE hygiene products, non-perishable items such as: canned protein (meats, nut butters), canned fruits or vegetables, soup and chili, pasta and rice, cereal and oatmeal, breakfast and nutrition bars, dessert items (preferably all in one box type) and dry beans all within expiration date.
On Friday, December 28, families are invited to bring their donations to the Covenant Cupboard at 12:00 noon and Rev. Gary will bless your gifts as they are given to the needy in our community. By coming together as a family to help others, kids will feel that they have made a difference and are able to bless others in a tangible way.
