Making a Joyful Noise unto the Lord

Good Shepherd has a rich, vibrant music program that highlights several different groups who support our services with an eclectic mix of music from both classical and more modern composers. We believe that offering many styles of music broadens our appeal, and that all music created with God at its center is good. We invite you to look over our many groups and hope you will consider joining us as we make a joyful noise unto the Lord.

"Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation."
- Psalm 95:1

the good shepherd Choir

The Good Shepherd Choir provides musical leadership and performs anthems of all types on Sunday mornings during the 10 am blended worship service. During the school year, the anthems are presented on a regular basis and on an irregular schedule during the summer. The choir also sings at special services during the year (Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, and Holy Week), plus the choir leads the presentation of the Episcopal Service of Lessons and Carols during Advent. Occasionally, other musical events are offered to the community. Membership is open to anyone desiring to sing in a mixed choir. Regular attendance is encouraged but not required. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings during the school year in the Sanctuary.

Men rehearse 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Women rehearse 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Choir warm up is every Sunday morning at 9:15 am in the Sanctuary. We hope you will consider joining us. Contact Connie Branton for more information.

Bell Choir

The Good Shepherd Bell Choir provides musical offerings throughout the year at selected 10 am services. Rehearsals are every Thursday evening during the school year from 6:30-7:30 pm in the chapel. Membership is open to anyone who can read either bass clef or treble clef. No experience required. Bells are a percussion instrument; so if you need a fun way to handle tension - give this group a try. Contact Trish Hartman for more information.

Our acoustic worship teams provide musical leadership for the 10 am Sunday morning blended service as well as the 6 pm Sunday evening acoustic service in our chapel. The groups primarily sing from the Good Shepherd green songbook and also share musical offerings during services.

The Sunday morning worship group MorningSong rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm, while the Sunday evening worship group EveningSong rehearses at 5 pm on Sundays prior to the 6 pm service. Both groups are open to musicians of all ages and high school youth are especially encouraged to participate. We are looking for permanent as well as guest musicians who have a passion for music and want to help serve both God and Good Shepherd. Contact DeeDee Atwood, Contemporary Music Director, for more information.

The Black Sheep

The Black Sheep is a group of men from the church who enjoy the rich repertoire of a capella and accompanied music for male voices. They sing periodically at the 10 am service, at social events, and most often just for the fun of it. Rehearsals are Mondays from 7:30-8:30 pm in the main sanctuary. Join us at rehearsal, or contact Neal Wegener for more information.

The Music with a Mission Concert Series is an outreach project of Good Shepherd which benefits local mission organizations and artists, and provides top-quality entertainment to the Centennial Community. Each concert is free of charge, and a "love offering" is collected during the evening with all proceeds going to our sponsoring mission.

Our 2017-2018 Season will kick off in October. For a full list of concerts click the link below.
